Our Program

McMurrich Co-operative Playschool operates a morning program and an afternoon program from September to June. Families can choose to attend five days, three days or two days a week. The morning program operates from 8:45 to 11:45 and our afternoon operates from 1:15 to 4:15. Our supervising teacher (ECE) is supported by a teaching assistant and duty day volunteer to supervise a maximum of 15 children.

With the exception of professional development days (when we remain open), the school observes the same breaks and holidays as McMurrich Junior Public School.

We also operate a summer program five mornings a week from 9:00 to 12:00 or 1:00 to 4:00 or full day 9:00 to 4:00. Email for more details.

A typical day at McMurrich Playschool

Each daily session follows a loose routine that enables children to familiarize themselves with school life. Each day includes the following:

• Outdoor play (weather permitting)
• Bathroom time
• Snack time
• Free play
• Craft activities
• Circle time including music, stories, games and conversation
